GROW

1

Habitat

Provide fresh moving air, adequate water, nutrients, and fan-forced breezes to keep the plants healthy

2

Nutrients and PH

Monitor the pH level of the soil and adjust it if necessary.

The ideal pH range for soil is 6.0-7.0, which also depends on the strain.

3

Weeds Gonna Grow

Train the plants to grow in a certain way by pruning, topping, or bending the branches. This will help to increase the yield and improve the quality of the buds.

Habitat

Build or Buy?

01

What you will need

  • A space: tent, closet, spare bathroom, or small room.

  • A basic LED grow light sized for your space.

  • An exhaust fan and simple ducting (for tents/rooms).

  • A small clip‑on fan for air movement.

  • A cheap timer for the light.

Whether you buy a complete tent kit or hang a light in a closet, you need a space where you control light, air, and temperature.

02

Location, Location, Location

I use my garage, but any room will do as long as you can get climate control, ample room for the growing area, and ventilation.

Pick a spot that:

  • Has a power outlet nearby.

  • Can be kept roughly 70–80°F without heroic HVAC.

  • Can be closed off so no light leaks in or out when you’re flowering.

Avoid spots that flood, overheat (like a sun‑baked attic), or get blasted by outside light when they’re supposed to be dark.

03

Climate Control on the Cheap

You don’t need a NASA lab.

  • Use the exhaust fan to pull hot, humid air out and let fresh air in.

  • If it’s too hot, run the lights at night when the house is cooler or add a cheap fan to move more air.

  • If it’s too dry, a shallow tray of water or a budget humidifier in veg can help; if it’s too humid in flower, increase exhaust or add a small dehumidifier if needed.

You’re just trying to keep the plants comfortable, not perfect.

04

Lights on a Timer

Set your veg lights to 18 hours on / 6 hours off with a simple plug‑in timer.

  • Same schedule every day—don’t hand‑flip the switch and forget.

  • Keep the light at the height recommended by the manufacturer; if plants stretch, move it closer, if they taco or bleach, raise it a bit.

Consistency here makes the plants grow like clockwork.

Nutrients and PH

Functionality You Will Love

01

What You Will Need

  • Quality organic soil or “super soil.”

  • Fabric pots or other containers with drainage.

  • A simple organic “grow” nutrient (if your soil isn’t fully pre‑amended).

  • pH test drops or a cheap pH pen (for water).

This is your food and housing plan for the plants.

02

Containers, Soil, Support

  • Use 3–5 gallon fabric pots for most indoor grows; they drain well and keep roots happy.

  • Fill them with light, airy organic soil that already has compost/worm castings, not cheap, heavy yard dirt.

  • For tall or heavy plants, have bamboo stakes or a simple trellis net ready later so stems don’t flop over.

Good soil and a pot that drains are more important than fancy bottles.

03

Use Grow Nutrients

In veg, plants want more nitrogen and a balanced diet.

  • If you’re using pre‑amended “just add water” soil, you may not need bottled veg nutrients at all until mid‑veg.

  • If leaves start to pale, use a mild organic “grow” nutrient at half strength and watch how the plant responds.

  • Don’t mix every bottle on the shelf; pick one simple organic line and stick with it.

Feed light, observe, and only increase if the plant asks.

04

Watering Schedule

Forget rigid calendars; water by feel.

  • Stick a finger in the soil up to the first knuckle; if it’s dry that deep, water; if it’s still damp, wait.

  • When you water, go slow until a bit of runoff comes out the bottom, then stop.

  • In small pots, water every day or every other day; in larger pots, every 2–4 days.

Overwatering is more common than underwatering. When in doubt, let them dry slightly between waterings.

Weed's Gonna Grow

The Hardest Part of Growing is Leaving Them the Fuck Alone!

01

What You Will Need

  • Patience.

  • Optional: soft plant ties or clips.

  • Optional: simple training gear (trellis net).

At this stage, you mostly keep the environment steady and let the plant do its thing.

02

Plant Support

As plants get bigger, they may lean.

  • Use soft ties to bend and secure branches, gently opening up the canopy.

  • For bushier plants, run a simple net over the canopy and weave the tops through to spread them.

This helps light reach more bud sites without brutal surgery.

03

Dialing in the Lights, Temp & Humidity

In veg, aim for:

  • Temp around 70–80°F.

  • Humidity is roughly 50–70%.

  • Lights 18/6, at a distance where leaves are flat and happy—not reaching, not curling.

Make small changes, then wait a day or two to see how plants react instead of chasing every minor leaf twist.

04

On to the Flower Stage

You’re ready to flip to bloom when:

  • Plants have filled about half to two‑thirds of the vertical space you’re willing to use.

  • They’re healthy, with mostly green leaves and no major pest issues.

Then you’ll change the light schedule to 12/12 and start the next act.
